Does a flop movie really discourage an actor? To be frank yes, but if it is Ranbir Kapoor no.

One has to learn confidence and spunk from this handsome lad from the Kapoor clan. The show must go on said his granddad Raj Kapoor and Ranbir strictly believes this. And Whatta family to back him up. True to their love for him, they were quite supportive of him and Katrina Kaif in fact appreciated that he even tried something different.
