Whole Foods is embracing a unique, organic strategy: now trying to appeal to Millennials! (Just like everyone else). The popular-but-expensive grocery chain has announced plans to open a NEW grocery chain where young hipsters can actually afford to shop.
The plan involves opening smaller stores, where a limited selection of items will be available. Except, they’re calling it a “Curated Selection” which means it’ll be 30% more expensive than a limited selection. So, that’s in line with the Whole Foods business model.
This is all a pretty obvious play to get those elusive “Millennial” consumers brand-loyal to Whole Foods. This play is unique to Whole Foods, and pretty much every other company on the planet.
