Dozens of assailants attacked a gay pride march in Kiev on June 6, the second such event ever held in the city. Around 300 members of the LGBT community came out with 2,000 police officers deployed to protect the march for equality, after the ultra-nationalist Right Sector vowed to cause disruptions, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
Five policemen were injured in the clashes.
Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko had called for the event to be cancelled to avoid confrontations, BBC reported. Credit: YouTube/Max Tucker
