Last night, Ecuadoran opposition demonstrators protesting against a proposed inheritance tax threatened to storm the headquarters of the ruling Pais Alianza party and are calling for the ouster of the country's democratically elected president Rafael Correa. The right-wing protest was met by a much larger number of supporters of Correa's Citizen's Revolution and its social achievements. Correa said the government would not back down from its proposal to slap a small tax on large inheritances. Pro-government supporters are calling for a mass rally on Monday. teleSUR
