Two black winged stilts wander about the shores of the sea in Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. A sizable number of pelicans speckle the face of the Arabian sea. These unique birds float and bounce through the waves of the water with there necks tipped back like a bunch of old people lazing on their rocking chair. Ducking their heads every now and then as a prey passes underneath them. As the setting sun lights the birds with a golden sheen the birds prune their feathers with there long beak.
Black Winged Stilts are noisy but quite elegant looking wading birds. As their name suggests they have long legs and they like shallow fresh, brackish and salt water areas where they can probe for food. Having long legs they can also feed in deeper water.
