Margrethe Vestager is the European Commissioner for Competition. Since taking office a little less than seven months ago, she has outlined antitrust probes against a series of major companies, including US tech giant Google and Russian gas producer Gazprom.
Margrethe Vestager denies accusations that her cases are politically motivated. "What we are protecting here is the integrity of the single market… We cannot allow ourselves to use the competition tools and law enforcement in a political way", she told FRANCE 24's Markus Karlsson.
