After 54 years of suspended relations, the U.S. and Cuba announced today that embassies in their respective capitals would be opened on July 20. U.S. President Barack Obama said the rapprochement with Havana has generated enormous enthusiasm at home and abroad, and that the two countries were neighbors and now want to be friends.
