BBC reporter uses hand as iPad in bizarre bulletin sign-off. Sportsday presenter Chris Mitchell caught tapping away on an imaginary touch-screen device at the end of his studio report. This is the bizarre moment a BBC presenter appeared to use his hand as an imaginary tablet or smartphone live on air. As the camera zooms out at the end of his report, Chris Mitchell can clearly be seen miming scrolling and swiping actions on the palm of his hand.

The presenter had just finished fronting SportsDay, a regular sports news program, on the BBC news channel. It is not clear whether Mr Mitchell was unaware viewers could see his hands at the end of the show, or whether he simply thought no-one would notice.
Although he has not commented directly on his odd actions, the sports presenter has responded to a tweet teasing him about the incident.
