Tim Currie is a devoted family man, just like the two generations of Currie’s before him. He is the proud owner of Currie Tire of Norwalk, CT, started by his grandfather LJ Duck Currie in 1929. His two sons, Adam and Tim Jr, have also decided to follow in their family footsteps and inherit the dream of generations past that all started at this very same location at 599 West Ave 86 years ago. This family’s unique devotion to one another was challenged in 2005 when the patriarch was diagnosed with Cancer. Tim underwent treatment and fought off the disease. Two years later, Tim was diagnosed with a second Cancer. During his second round of treatment, Tim declined chemotherapy and decided on natural remedies to cure his life threatening disease. It was during this time when his life was on the line, Tim decided to rekindle an old passion for playing music and picked up is drumsticks for the first time in 25 years. Armed with a new lease on life, he started his band, Tim Currie and the Motown Review and donates their talents to raising money for those suffering and in need. Check out this video and witness the healing powers of family and in following your passions.
