A French woman who was abducted in Yemen in February has been freed and is expected in Paris on Friday morning, according to a statement from the office of President Hollande.

No details have been revealed of her release.

Prime and her translator Shereen Makawi were abducted by gunmen in the Yemeni capital Sanaa while the pair were on their way to work.

Makawi was released in March.

In June, Paris authenticated a video in which the French consultant begged to be brought back to France.

In recent years, Yemeni tribesmen have taken foreigners hostage.

Yemen is also home to one of the most active al Qaeda branches.
