Dramatic footage has emerged of a march marking National Independence Day in Warsaw, Poland on Tuesday.

Marchers can be seen carrying lit flares and Polish flags as they make their way across a bridge in the city centre.

The rally later turned violent as groups of people began throwing stones and flares at police forcing officers to use a water cannon to disperse crowds.

According to local media, it is the fourth year in a row that the march has ended in violence.
