A group consisting of twelve people staged a protest at the Chinese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur today to commemorate the Tienanmen Square massacre that occurred 25 years ago. They demanded that the Chinese government release activists and dissidents related to the massacre.
The protest which aimed to siege the embassy was disrupted by more that 20 police and light strike force who were there to guard the premises. Protesters were ordered to leave the embassy as the rally organizer had failed to notify the police as required under the peaceful assembly act 2012.
However, no arrest had been made and the police ultimately allowed the protesters to send their memorandum to the ambassador Huang Hui Kang.
