According to the United Nations, levels of violence have decreased in Colombia since the onset of the peace talks between FARC rebels and the government. The lowest levels of violence in the last few years were recorded during the FARC’s unilateral ceasefires, especially the one that was in effect from December 20, 2014 to May 22, 2015.
