Two big 9a ascents made the news over the last week and while one of them was fairly run of the mill, Alex Megos adding yet another hard route to his logbook, the other held more significance. While the number of women to climb 9a and above continues to rise, few have made multiple 9a ascents, but in clipping the chains on 'Esclatamasters' in Perles, Spain, Mar Álvarez has become the third woman to do so. Until last year, Mar had never received any sponsorship for her climbing and her struggle to become a professional athlete is the subject of a new series premiering on EpicTV next week. Another series that's just come out on the site is Hometown Crusher. In this series, we're giving you the chance to win a whole host of adidas Outdoor and Five Ten goodies as well as having your home climbing area profiled for an EpicTV edit. If you haven't already, check it out and enter to win on the series Facebook page.
