Washington (U.S.), Aug 12 (EFE/EPA), (Camera: Michael Reynolds).- Washington National Zoo's giant panda Mei Xiang has given birth to twins days after veterinarians confirmed she was pregnant. Zoo staff were optimistic about the survival of both cubs thanks to a Chinese system. They will occasionally switch the babies: while one newborn is with its mother, the second one is kept in an incubator.
