St. Lucia is cracking down on off-shore educational institutions that violate the laws of the Caribbean island nation. The head of American International Medical University was arrested and indicted on eight offenses, including the unlawful possession of visa applications and illegal advertising. Efforts are underway in the Caribbean Community member states to regulate such educational institutions, especially medical schools, and require them to seek proper accreditation.
