As well as being a comprehensive producer and DJ, Rolando's weighty resum? is also filled out by his former association with Underground Resistance, ownership of the R3 imprint, and a Berghain residency. It therefore doesn't come as a surprise that his opener on the remix EP of Anton Pieete's "The News" should be this much of a certified head-turner. Bearing a strong allegiance to its musical pedigree, both original and rework shine in their orthodoxy of modern techno. Going slightly deeper than Pieete may have dared to, Rolando reincarnates "The News" into a choppy underground churner to ignite any darkened dancefloor.
