Colombia to Take Border Crisis to UN

Having failed to obtain the 18 votes necessary to convene an extraordinary meeting of the OAS, Colombia now plans to take the issue of the border crisis with Venezuela to the UN. Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin expressed surprise at the vote, particularly Panama's abstention. Meanwhile, a UN investigative team dismissed allegations that Venezuela had violated the human rights of Colombians deported back home, but did cite the existence of a humanitarian crisis.
