Hondurans have taken advantage of independence celebrations to step up their campaign for the resignation of President Juan Orlando Hernandez. As Central America celebrated 194 years of independence from Spain, protesters took to the streets in Honduras to point out that independence is something they’re still fighting for due to the continued interference of the United States in their country’s political, military and economic decisions.
