While the corporate media in Argentina is highly concentrated and rabidly conservative, grass roots communication projects seek to provide an alternative. One example is Radio La Tribu in Buenos Aires, in which the community directly participates in determining and producing content. The Communication Services Law, enacted six years ago, provides financial and technical assistance to such projects, and has already helped establish the first 47 indigenous radio stations.
