A bizarre video has emerged from Hunan Province, China of a tiny child sitting on his father's lap and steering a car through busy roads.

In the footage, the four or five-year-old boy can be seen concentrating fiercely as he manoeuvres the car past pedestrians and other vehicles.

His father gives him instructions throughout.

According to local media, the identity of the young learner driver is a mystery.
