Six weeks after gigantic explosions rocked the Chinese port town of Tianjin, killing over 170 people, reconstruction is under way. While authorities have vowed to thoroughly investigate the shortcomings that led to this massive industrial disaster, many residents, still traumatised by the event, have decided not to return home. Even in cities not affected by the toxic explosions, residents have become suspicious of warehouses and factories and sceptical of promises from the government.
