There was perhaps no greater comet seen with the naked eye by modern man than the Hale-Bopp comet in 1997. The late J.R. Church and Gary Stearman discuss the prophetic significance of the Hale-Bopp comet as alluded to in Psalm 97. Back in the eighties, J.R. discovered that the psalms seem to have been encoded with allusions to modern events that happened in the specific year according to the number of the psalm. Going back through modern history, one can see that this is the case. In looking at psalm 97, one can see the allusions to the Hale-Bopp comet coming through in 1997, the year number of the psalm. Comets of this magnitude have always signalled something major happening in the world that would dramatically change the course of history approximately 3 and one half to four years after a comet of this magnitude was seen. With this being the case, it comes as no surprise that approximately 3 and one half to four years later after the Hale-Bopp comet was seen by the naked eye of man, the attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon occurred, forever altering the course of the world toward the biblical global judgments described in the book of Revelation as "The Great Tribulation." This fact can be seen in the course of action that the world's sole superpower, the United States, took in invading the middle east, thus setting the stage for the biblical end times wars also described in multiple books of the bible. The Hale-Bopp comet did indeed signal all of these things, and it would seem that J.R. and Gary were right on the mark with their assesment of this comet and it's prophetic significance described in Psalm 97 of the bible. But it doesn't stop there.
