By today`s standards, the Serie A during what might be called its GOLDEN YEARS - 1984-1994 - was the FIRST (and as of THEN, ONLY) "quality league" in the world. The League`s voracious appetite for ever-new footballing talent was so strong, that two in three world class footballers of that era would eventually wind up being signed by an Italian club. For some reason I don`t know the Serie A in its glory days produced many more spectacular goals than any of Europe`s top leagues (EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A) during the past 2 decades.
