They say water is life. But Sabarmati river is earning a rare, and not at all enviable, tag — suicide hotspot. And it has become a deathbed. Fortunately, authorities have woken up from their slumber and started taking initiatives to prevent suicide incidents. As per police and Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) figures, in the period of last week, at least 19 people have attempted suicide by jumping into the river.
