The National Liberation Army (ELN) -Colombia's second largest guerrilla group- accepted responsibility for Monday's ambush of a military convoy carrying ballots and electoral officials from the previous days elections. In the attack 11 soldiers and a police officer were killed and two soldiers were captured. The ELN announced it would free the soldiers. In response to the attack, President Juan Manuel Santos said he had instructed the armed forces to intensify actions againstb the ELN. teleSUR
