The technical term for the beautiful wild spectacle is a 'murmuration'.
Despite the incredible size of the flocks, starling numbers are just a fraction of what they used to be in the UK, according to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).
The starling population has fallen by over 80 percent in recent years, meaning they are now on the critical list of UK birds most at risk, according to the RSPB.
