The resultant solar reflection from the plume... is used in missile defense electro-optics target detection/tracking/classification and identification (DTCI). Associated targets include US UGM-133A TRIDENT II; Russian RT-2PM2 TOPEL-M; PRC DONG FENG 31/41...all solid propellant ICBMs. The submarine launched (SLBMs) variants are included in this video...namely UGM-133A and PRC-JULANG II...with TRIDENT II packing 14 MK-88 .5 megaton thermonuclear warheads. A similar load is carried by Russian and Chinese ICBM and SLBM systems. All use fission and fusion weapons.
