In response to a question about calls to halt the movement of people from the Middle East into Europe, the International Organization for Migration said the group was concerned that the attacks in Paris might lead to greater restrictions.
"I.O.M. is concerned that the understandable response to the events in Paris not impact migrants negatively, many of whom are themselves fleeing violence," said William Lacy Swing, the director general of the organization.
The agency has long sought what it calls "legal, safe and secure" channels for all migrants, including those who are fleeing war and persecution.
