A non-league soccer match between Thurrock FC and Romford FC in England’s Isthmian League Division One North on November 17 would not normally make national, let alone international headlines. But thanks to a bizarre own goal for Romford it is doing just that.
Windy conditions allowed a clearance from Thurrock defender Kamarl Duncan close to midfield to travel back to his own goal before bouncing over goalkeeper Rhys Madden. The match finished 1-1.
The YouTube video of the goal is on under 8,000 views at the time of writing but is sure to rise quickly. Credit: YouTube/Thurrock FC
