"Amnesty International" ka vënë alarmin në lidhje me arrestimet masive të emigrantëve të paligjshëm në Greqi ditët e fundit, gjatë operacionit "Xenios Zeus". Raportet e "AI" kanë të bëjnë me mbi 7500 shtetas të huaj që u kapën në Athinë gjatë javës së kaluar. "Autoritetet policore greke duhet të ndalojnë shtypjen masive të emigrantëve të parregullt dhe t'iu lejojnë qasjen efektive në procedurat e azilit, atyre të cilët kanë nevojë për mbrojtje ndërkombëtare," vëren "Amnesty", në një deklaratë. Organizata ne mbrojtje te te drejtave te njeriut është e shqetësuar se aksionet e fundit te policisë do te nxisin sulme te mëtejshme ksenofone ne vend. Duke cituar prova të policisë greke, "Amnesty International" thotë se rreth 2000 emigrantë janë gjetur pa dokumente dhe janë arrestuar. Njerëzit, sipas deklaratës, janë mbajtur në kushte mbipopullimi në stacione të policisë në Athinë dhe të tjerët në pjesën veriore të Greqisë, në ndërtesat që përdoren si qendra paraburgimi. "Amnesty" thotë se kur shtetasit e huaj në Greqi përpiqen për të hyrë në procedurat e azilit, shpesh përballen me pengesa serioze dhe vetëm një numër i vogël prej tyre regjistrohen nga autoritetet çdo javë.

"Amnesty International" has sounded alarm about the mass arrests of illegal immigrants in Greece recently, during Operation "Xenios Zeus". Reports of "AI" dealing with over 7500 foreign nationals were detained in Athens last week. "Greek police authorities should stop the massive printing of irregular migrants and to allow effective access to asylum procedures, those who are in need of international protection," notes "Amnesty", in a statement. Organizations in the protection of human rights is concerned that the recent actions of the police will encourage further attacks ksenofone instead. Citing evidence of the police, "Amnesty International" says that about 2000 immigrants are found without documents and were arrested.
