The official march for climate, planned to be the first highlight of COP21, was canceled due to security measures taken after the Paris attacks on 13 November. To demonstrate their commitment anyway, NGOs, celebrities and anonymous people have symbolically deposited thousands of pairs of shoes on Republic Square.
