SAN FRANCISCO — An internet celebrity cop is now facing charges after a hit-and-run incident over the weekend. Chris Kohrs, an officer made famous on Facebook for his Ken doll-good looks in his San Francisco neighbourhood, was driving in his orange Dodge Charger around 2 a.m. Sunday morning. Kohrs was off-duty at the time, and was on medical leave for an unspecified reason. Two men were crossing the street on Broadway near Montgomery St., when Kohrs suddenly drove into them. Knocking the men to the ground, Kohrs got out of the car and immediately took off on foot. His car was later identified by investigators, and Kohrs turned himself in without incident. The two men injured in the hit-and-run were rushed to San Francisco General Hospital. They are still under hospital care, but remain in non-life threatening condition. Kohrs has been charged with two felony counts of hit-and-run, and will be suspended from his post if he is eventually admitted back to the San Francisco Police Department.
