On December 1, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto completed the first half of his six-year term of office, which analysts, journalists and public opinion polls say is steeped in corruption, violence, poverty and political repression. There are two million more Mexicans in poverty now than at the first of his administration. Recent polls show a 60% disapproval rate, which has not been registered for any other Mexican president in the last 100 years. Peña Nieto promised yesterday to implement all eleven of his structural reforms, which have provoked deep discontent and massive protests. Clayton Conn reports from Mexico for teleSUR
