CINCINNATI — In a setup that's more Halloween than Christmas, an Ohio man erected a zombie Nativity scene on his front lawn, and it has small town fingers wagging.

The New York Daily News reports that Jasen Dixon, who manages the 13 Rooms of Doom haunted house, has put up the eerie display for the second year in a row, and authorities aren't amused.

Sycamore Township officials asked him to take down the zombie-themed Christmas exhibit last year because he didn't have a permit. This year, he decided to take the extra step and apply for one, but had his request promptly denied due to "zoning code violations".

Despite being threatened with a $500 fine for each day he leaves it up, Dixon has yet to comply.

He says the exhibit has gotten mixed reviews. While it drew the ire of a local religious group, who left zombie baby Jesus a pamphlet saying, "God frowns upon this manger scene", according to The New York Times, some have expressed their approval of the macabre display.
