Dozens of civilians were killed today as Syrian streets ran red with blood when bombs rained down in a brutal battle between rebels and government forces.
Adults were seen carrying injured children through streets reduced to rubble by the bombardment of a besieged rebel stronghold that struck a school and killed at least 31 civilians, a monitoring group claims.
Field hospitals were flooded with people, performing emergency surgery on small children as young as ten, as bombs continued to rain down from planes from government forces, believed to be Russian.
