The agreement on justice and compensation for victims of Colombia's armed conflict announced yesterday in Havana is a major step forward for the peace process. It had been one of the most difficult points in the negotiations, and took a year to reach. Despite right-wing criticisms, victims -including those of the FARC guerrillas- welcomed the agreement.
