CUSTER COUNTY, OKLAHOMA — A Texas man has been arrested in connection of a road rage shooting on Interstate 40 in Oklahoma that began late Wednesday night and continued into early Thursday morning. Two people were killed.
The shooting spree began late Wednesday night after a driver of a GMC pickup truck was reportedly driving fast and erratically, ABC News reported.
The driver, later identified as Jeremy Doss Hardy, a 36-year-old man from Pasadena, Texas was firing randomly at other vehicles on the road, KOCO reported.
Jeffrey Kent Powell, a 45-year-old man who was driving with his wife, was killed at the scene. Billie Jean West, 63, who was driving alone, was hit by the bullets and died later at a hospital. At least six vehicles, including a tractor trailer were struck by gunfire, ABC News reported.
According to KOCO, Oklahoma Highway Patrol pursued and caught up with Hardy near the town of Clinton. Hardy pulled over and surrendered at around 12:39 a.m. He was arrested for DUI and is being held in custody at Custer County jail.
