Paraguay: State of Emergency Declared in 5 Provinces

The Paraguayan government decreed a state of emergency in six of the country's provinces in response to severe flooding. The aim of the state of emergency is to activate a contingency plan. Thus far 40,000 people have been evacuated, including 12,000 in the capital city of Asuncion. teleSUR
