yeah those things aren't contradictory. we should keep them for as long as necessary, as long as they're absolutely necessary, not a day more. expanding use of fossil fuels, just ensures well be dependant for longer. we should reduce use of carbon producing fuels as quickly as we can, so we DEFINITELY should not be expanding.
