Akbar was the Mughal King and Birbal was the (Wazir-e Azam) of the Mughal court in the administration of the Mughal emperor Akbar. He was one of his most trusted members along with being a part of Akbar's inner council of nine advisors, known as the navaratna, a Sanskrit word meaning nine jewels. Birbal was one of only a few persons other than Akbar that were Din-i-Ilahi believers.
Birbal's duties in Akbar's court were mostly military and administrative, but he was also a very close friend of the emperor, who appreciated Birbal for his wit and wisdom, often involving humorous exchanges. These and other stories have become part of a rich tradition of folklore and legend.

So here check out one story "A Tree's Testimony"

एक गांव एक गरीब किसान रहेता था । उसका नाम नेकीराम था । वो किसान हर साल बुढ़ापे केलिए थोड़े थोड़े पैसे एक मिठ्ठीके घड़े मैं जमकर के उसे अपने घरके पास एक पेड़ के निचे छुपाता था । एक उसने तीरथपे जानेका विचार किया । उसने अपनी सारी जमापूंजी अपने मित्र किशोरीलाल के पास देखभाल केलिए रखने का सोचा । किशोरीलाल धनवान था पर वो नेकीराम बहुत पुराना मित्र था । नेकीराम ने तीरथ जाने से पहेले अपनी सारी जमापूंजी किशोरीलाल के पास राखी । अगले दिन वो किसान तीरथ केलिए निकल गया । वहा से आने के बाद वो किशोरीलाल के पास अपनी सारी जमापूंजी माँगने गया तब किशोरीलाल ने कहा कि कोनसी जमापूंजी तुमने मुझे कोई पैसे नहीं दिए । किशोरीलाल ने नेकीराम को उसके पैसे दिए बिना अपने घरसे निकल दिया । नेकीराम अपनी जीवनभर कि जमापूंजी मिलाने केलिए बीरबल के पास सहाय्यता माँगने गया और बीरबल को सारी बाते बताइ ।
