EUGENE, OREGON — Justin Wilkins was recently awarded a payout for a 2012 incident involving Oregon police officer Captain Rob Edwards. Wilkins received the payout when it was confirmed the cop kicked him in the chest.

Edwards was on patrol in an unmarked police vehicle when Wilkins passed him on a solid line. Edwards pursued the reckless biker for nearly five minutes, during which the biker can be seen on police dashcam footage weaving in and out of cars.

The biker was forced to slow down a bit as he approached an intersection. Edwards comes to a stop as well, but not before knocking the biker to the ground.

The officer's adrenaline may have played too big of a role and landed him on the defendant's side of the courtroom. Edwards stepped out of the patrol car, drew his weapon and kicked Wilkins in the chest before putting the biker in cuffs.

Wilkins suffered a broken clavicle and fractured rib but the $180,000 from the excessive use of force claim likely has him feeling better.
