Shannon opened up about the horrific ordeal and says despite attempts to move on with her life says she can't help but think about it every dayDescribing the moments leading up to the attack, Shannon said it was the first time her ex had ever been violent when Boughton cornered her at home.
"My mum told me he'd been threatening to ruin my life. The next thing I know he'd jumped over my fence and because it was a flat he flew up the stairs and ran towards me.

"I froze then I ran back into the house and I went into the kitchen and he more or less cornered me. He swung at me once and caught my nose and my face went really warm so I knew he'd made my nose bleed.
"And then it was two direct punches to the mouth. I had to go to the hospital and have stitches in my gums, and my teeth put back in."Boughton was convicted of putting a person in fear of violence and two counts of actual bodily harm and sentenced to 18 months in prison and a three-year restraining order.
But because he spent that time on remand awaiting a trial, the 32-year-old is already out of prison.

Shannon admitted she was disappointed at the sentence but said she was glad he was convicted: "I didn't get the justice that I wanted. But something did come out of it."Jeremy praised Shannon for speaking out and sending out a "powerful message" and even though she said she felt like she could never trust men again, the host assured her that her ex "was no man" and not an example she should measure future relationships on.
Shannon's mum Amanda had been there to support her daughter and said: "I'm very proud of her. She's come such a long way. There's still a journey to go but she's sucha survivor."
The presenter promised Shannon she would get the help she needed from the show's team so that she could move on with her life and not worry about facing her ex again.
