EATON, OHIO — An Ohio sheriff's deputy is happy to be alive after miraculously surviving being hit by a tractor trailer with just minor injuries.

Preble County Deputy Captain Brad Moore was directing traffic following a minor accident on the US 35 near Eaton, Ohio, on Jan. 8 when the incident occurred.

Dashcam video from Captain Moore's police car shows him directing a tractor trailer forward as the railway crossing barrier begins to fall.

Deputy Moore then heads round to the front of the truck to ask the river to pull forward as the truck's rear is still on the railroad lines.

Then, just as the truck begins to move forward it is hit from behind by the train.

The impact sends the trailer shooting forward, and you can see Deputy Moore being pushed forward by the cab before he rolls alongside as the truck careens narrowly past him and comes to a halt.

His fellow deputy then checks on Moore before rushing off to call for help.

Deputy Moore says a small incline near the bush probably saved his life as it sent him rolling to safety, helping him avoid the semi's rear wheels.

He was left with two gashes to his head and a broken left hand. And despite his brush with death Moore says he is eager to return to work as soon as possible.
