Production has officially begun on the sequel to 2014’s wildly successful blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and a few new faces are involved.
According to the Facebook page of the franchise’s writer/director James Gunn, principal photography began Wednesday on “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
2” in Atlanta and one of Gunn’s favorite actors is along for the ride.
“I’m glad to announce that, yes, Kurt Russell has joined our cast and, yes, he is a more awesome a dude than I ever could have imagined.”
It has not yet been announced who Russell will be playing, but according to the information released on Marvel.com, the second movie will “unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.”
