A heartwarming video has emerged from the US of a pro wrestler proposing to his girlfriend, who is also his opponent, during an inter-gender bout on Saturday.

The footage, captured during a Finest City Wrestling event in San Diego, CA, shows Joey Ryan halting his wrestling match with Laura James and proceeding to propose to her.

She then accepts, and the two hug, giving Ryan the perfect opportunity to perform a quick take-down and get the three count.
