Palestinian leader Leila Khaled claims that "in Apec (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation), [leaders] are going to constitute a new system for this world according to their interests and their interests contradict with our interests as people." Khaled added that although we continue to fight for our freedom, "in Apec, freedom is for the powers and not for the people."
