For gadget freaks, like myself, this is going to be one of those 2016 "must-haves". In fact, I am DROOLING over the Death Star model version available for $200. I hadn't even seen that until just now as I came here to write this review. Oh... wow!
Anyways, getting the speaker to levitate is actually quite easy. Simply stand over it, looking down with your Mark I optics (your eyeballs) to see the center while at the same time feeling the "magnetic cradle". That's that!
There is one specific revisions I would strongly suggest, however. Tone down the base's blue LED ring. It completely overwhelms the speaker's own optional LED lights (a slow fade rainbow effect). I would also recommend making a model with a black matte, non-fingerprint smearing exterior. :p
Also, be aware that when charging the speaker, there is a little red light that shows charging - but never actually turned off when full. I knew it was full because I used one of my own Light-Up micro USB charging cords that tell me when any given device is fully charged. A minor thing, to be sure, since any recently manufactured 5V USB power source will have IC to prevent overcharging, yet still something to address in future production runs.
All in all, as someone who is very used to First Generation gadgets and all the inevitable wonkiness and frustrations such devices tend to present before attaining tech-head glee, I found this relatively simple and very satisfying right out of the box. As 1st Gen stuff, that is an excellent point to start with. :)
