Faizabad, Mar 03 (ANI): A 40-member South Korean delegation visited the monument dedicated to Queen Heo Hwang-Ok, their royal ancestor, and paid homage to her at Faizabad city in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Dignitaries from Ayodhya and Faizabad with Korean delegation gathered to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the memorial. The memorial was built in 2001 in Faizabad and since then, every year Queen Heo's descendants come to India to pay homage to their royal ancestor. To strengthen the friendship between the two nations, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has declared to build a memorial park in queen’s honour. According to the legend, Heo's parents had dreamt of King Suro that he had not yet found a Queen. So, her parents told her to go to the King, and marry him. It is believed that the queen died at the age of 189.
