i'm turning 40 this year, and i've just been thinking about all the things which have shaped my life to the point where i am today. i didn't even mention every experience (or every band), but it's just a general commentary. not all of the journey has been smooth, but i welcome it.

and yeah, freddy 'madball' cricien is the half-brother of roger miret of agnostic front. so punk and hardcore DEFINITELY shaped that guy. though we are around the same age he got much more of a head start- HA! to me, hardcore/punk rock are not mutually exclusive from jazz, hip hop or anything else i was listening to at the time, or still do. i hung out with SHARPs more often than folks from the DMS crew, but when i talked to them, DMS were cool people.

ABC no rio is still going, and as far as i know so is C squat. amazingly, with all the gentrification happening in NYC, those places are still around.
